Thursday, Oct. 31 from 6:30-9 p.m.

What are you doing after trick-or-treating this year? End your Halloween night at the Mansion and Historic Park. Ghouls and goblins of all ages are invited. This is a free outdoors-only event, and the interior of the Mansion will be closed. Some visitors just make a quick stop to trick or treat at the front door, while others might stay for a cocktail on the veranda. We’ll have a DJ playing Halloween music and a cash bar with drinks for purchase, including a signature spooky cocktail. No reservations are required and this event is free to attend.

Please note: Parking is limited, and parking in the surrounding neighborhoods is not allowed. We strongly recommend carpooling and encourage residents in the area to bike or walk.

What if the weather is bad? Will the event be canceled?

  • Weather in Colorado is always a bit unpredictable on Halloween, and we encourage everyone to dress accordingly. This event will only be canceled in the event of extreme cold or heavy storms. Weather updates will be posted at 303-791-0177, on our website and on our Facebook page.

Will this event be indoors? Will there be indoor tours of the Mansion?

  • No, the interior of the Mansion will be closed during this event. No public access will be allowed, and all activities will take place outdoors.

Will there be indoor restrooms available?

  • No, as the interior of the Mansion will be closed, there will be port-o-lets available outside.

Where can I park for this event?

  • Limited parking will be provided in the Mansion parking lot located on the west side of the property. We encourage carpooling/walking.

Will there be food available for purchase?

  • No food will be available at this event, unless you count a full-sized candy bar as food — those will be free to the first 500 trick-or-treaters!

Can I bring my own alcohol to this event? Will there be a cash bar?

  • No outside alcohol is permitted. We will have drinks for purchase at the cash bar, which will accept cash, Visa or Mastercard. Please bring your ID, as it will be checked before alcohol can be purchased.

Will there be non-alcoholic beverages available?

  • Yes, limited non-alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase, including bottled water and soda.

Enjoy spirits of the boozy kind while you explore the history, mystery and lore of this magnificent 19th-century mansion. Follow our guides through the dimly lit halls and historic rooms to hear real life tales and mysterious, spine-chilling experiences collected throughout the years.

Tickets are required and will go on sale beginning Aug. 15. 
Tickets include a free drink. A cash bar will be available with beer, wine, soda and a signature cocktail.
All tickets are subject to fees.

Please note: There will be no food available during this event. Recording or streaming of any kind is not allowed.

Join us at the Highlands Ranch Mansion for two special days in September when the old west comes to life. This event offers a variety of hands-on educational opportunities that are perfect to get children engaged with local history.  

Tickets will be sold at the gate.

Guided tours of the Mansion by appointment only on Friday, Sept. 6. Self-guided tours of the Mansion are available for everyone on Saturday, Sept. 7. For information about arranging school tours, please contact arice@highlandsranch.org.

 

PLEASE NOTE: All parking is off-site on Saturday, Sept. 7. Free shuttle buses will be available.

Make this Mother’s Day special by visiting the Highlands Ranch Mansion during free open hours. Take a self-guided tour through the 27,000-square-foot historic building and enjoy a relaxed afternoon in a picturesque location. Our docents will be stationed throughout the Mansion to answer questions and share our local history.

Tickets are not required for this free event.

As a reminder, the following are all prohibited on the grounds of the Mansion:
  • glass bottles or containers
  • bringing your own alcohol
  • dogs or other pets

Alan Prendergast, author of “Gangbuster,â€?will take us back to this little-known but crucial turning point in the state’s history, a struggle against corruption and extremism that reminds us that the past is closer than we realize.

Prendergast is the author of a true crime book, “The Poison Tree,” and “Gangbuster: One Man’s Battle Against Crime, Corruption, and the Klan”. His work has appeared in Rolling Stone, Outside, the Los Angeles Times, Westword, and other publications, as well as The Best American Sports Writing and The Best American Crime Reporting. He lives in Denver and writes frequently about the justice system, historic crimes, and high-security prisons.  

Doors will open at 5:30 p.m., with self-guided tours available; presentation begins at 7 p.m.
